There are various vape batteries to choose from, on the market. Inhale-activated vape batteries are one of the most popular options when it comes to vaping. Not only extremely simple to use, but there are also a variety of sizes, colors, and price ranges. Ranging anywhere from $10-$300, there is a vape pen for everyone! [1] (See Figure 1.1)

Introduction
Here at Bear Rootz, we strive to offer a variety of slim, discreet batteries that can easily fit in a pocket or purse for on-the-go vaping. The Ray Vape Battery is the highest standards and one of the most popular Inhale-Activated Vape Batteries that we carry.
Throughout this post, we will be diving into how to use inhale-activated batteries, a general product breakdown of all the components (See Figure 2.1 & 3.1), the technology behind inhale-activated batteries, and some common uses for them.
Inhale Activated Battery Anatomy
Inhale-activated vape batteries are easy to use and conveniently discreet. Figure 4.1 walks through the basic “How To” steps of using this particular type of battery.
That’s it! Very simple and yet very effective. All of the batteries we discuss in this article are inhale-activated and have one temperature setting so the need for a button or temperature controls is eliminated. The inhale-activated vape battery automatically goes off once you stop drawing from it, so the consumer doesn’t need to remember to turn anything off before pocketing.
Let’s Get Technical
The technology behind how the inhale-activated battery works is pretty simple [2]. (See Figure 5.1)
- Inhaling through the mouthpiece activates the Lithium-ion battery.
- The battery sends a charge up to the circuit board that regulates the electrical output.
- Next, an electrical current is sent through to the heating coil (Atomizer) within the cartridge that is attached to the battery.
- This causes the heating coil to get hot and vaporize the concentrate oil in the cartridge.
- Which in turn creates a vapor that is sent into the mouth through the opening at the top of the cartridge mouthpiece.
The cartridge component is the secondary part that has the coil, mouthpiece, and liquid. Without the battery component, it is harmless and will not produce vapor. The same goes for the battery, without the cartridge, it cannot be activated.
The Power Behind the Products
Most Vape batteries are comprised of a Lithium-ion battery within a casing. They are much more compact and last about the same amount of time as the old Nickel Metal Hydride batteries that they are quickly replacing. But unlike Nickel batteries, the Li-ion batteries are also known for being quick charging and more effective to use which allows for less charging time and more quality vaping! Figure 6.1 shows a breakdown of the inner anatomy of a Li-ion battery [3].
The mAh (Milliamp Hours) varies from battery to battery.
The mAh of a battery is the amount of energy that can be discharged without needing to be recharged. Simply put, the higher the mAh number, the longer life the battery has between charges [4]. We have the Lotus, which is our smallest battery at 300 mAh while our larger batteries, the Ray & Sol, come in at 350 mAh.
Now, if your customers are only using the battery device every once in a while, 180 mAh will work sufficiently, but if they want to use it more frequently and for prolonged sessions, a higher mAh battery will produce higher customer satisfaction. Having a variety of options for your clients gives them the opportunity to try different batteries. Either way, all of our Inhale-Activated batteries come with a Good Time Guarantee!
Now that you know more about the mAh power behind the battery, let’s take a look at the voltages that these vape batteries produce. The voltage of a battery is also known as the EMF, the electromotive force [5]. The EMF can be thought of as the pressure that causes the charge to flow through the battery’s circuit. This flow is called the current.
Inhale-Activated vape batteries are at a set voltage. The most common setting is 3.7V, which is typically more than enough to provide a steady and heavy flow of vapor with each intake. The voltage setting of inhale-activated batteries does vary from battery to battery and can be modified to fit your brand’s needs with our custom battery options. Although these batteries are at a set voltage, they have some fluctuation depending on how hard a person inhales or the resistance of the cartridge it is paired with. This enables the consumer to control their vapor intake preference.
Product Specs
Most inhale-activated batteries are designed to be used with any 510 Thread Cartridge. Cartridges come in a variety of flavors and sizes. Some people use vaporizers to help eliminate pain while others use them for pleasure. The popularity of casual vaping has greatly increased over the past few years.
Inhale-activated batteries come in varying shapes and sizes. The vape batteries we carry are typically geared towards being discreet and are smaller than some of the bigger battery types available on the market. Although we have these set options for inhale-activated batteries, we can create custom-sized batteries for any brand’s preference.
Figure 7.1 will give you an idea of the size, length, and mAh capabilities of some of the most popular inhale-activated batteries Bear Rootz currently carries.
Fun Facts
- Vaping can convert about 46% of the product to vapor, while smoking can only convert about 25% of the product, the rest is burned. [6]
- Harmful toxins in smoke can be effectively avoided by a vaporization device. Combusted smoke contains over 100 other chemicals including carcinogenic toxins that are associated with tobacco smoke whereas vaping is at a lower heat and does not produce such toxins as found in smoke. [6]
